Today has seen the printshop quite busy at Save The Date Cards headquarters. A little regular maintenance was carried out to the printing machinery, with a drop or two of oil here and a quick adjustment there followed by a good polish. A smart well oiled machine is more enjoyable to use and produces printed cards of the quality we expect to see. The printing process often requires a little extra craft input from the operator, mainly due to the different pressures required for the various designs and layouts used. If a card layout is fairly open and balanced from one side to the other a relatively light pressure is adequate, but if there is a dense block of printed imagery just at one end of the design it will invariably require much greater pressure to enable the production of a cleanly printed image. The results reflect the effort expended.
