Photo of a Save The Date Card
May 29th, 2011 by admin

Sunday evening and here’s a chance to look at an example of a save the date card photographed outside in the sunshine. Yes, there was some sunshine today, but not the roasting hot Bank Holiday weekend we’d have liked. When the cards are photographed in sunlight it seems to show them up more as they appear in real life, whereas a studio shot somehow looks less real. I’ve never quite understood why that happens, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say. I must try a holoprint card tomorrow and see if I can manage to capture the irridescent colours in a truly representative way … now that is a challenge. So far movies seem to be the best, but if I can manage a good still so much the better.100_7322

Card printing night
May 26th, 2011 by admin

Tonight was printing time. Four neat orders, all different. The combinations of card colours and print colours make similar designs look so different. You can get a feel for this on our website, where example colours can be changed. Tonight we’ve printed twp frosted card orders, one in white ink and one in silver, followed by a black card with silver ink. The final print run was a white card with gold ink. I always feel white cards with gold ink look traditional, which some people want. The frosted cards with silver ink have a more contemporary look. Different choices for different peoples tastes. That’s what makes the world go round,; choices and preferences.

Obama Saves The Date
May 24th, 2011 by admin

President Obama visits Uk a day early to miss the Icelandic ash cloud, Ryan Giggs is named in the house of commons, winds of 100 mph batter Scotland; these are all items in the news today, but shrink to nothing compared to any couples news when they want to announce their wedding with a Save The Date Card.

Obama could have used Save the Date Cards for his UK trip to make sure everyone who is anyone wouldn’t miss out. The other two newsworthy events of the day, perhaps not!

In the real world though, it’s you who matters and we can help you to announce your special day with a carefully crafted memorable card.

Seasonal Weddings and Save The Date Cards
May 22nd, 2011 by admin

Seasonal differences show up with Save The Date Cards. Winter Weddings are often a snowflake theme, whereas Spring Weddings are often themed with flowers. Summer and Autumn are more of a mix, with palm trees, castles and symbols. Throughout the year though, the favourite image ordered on our cards is the inter linked hearts. Such a simple symbol, yet so powerful. As is often the case, less is more. What is encouraging is that despite newspapers, radio and television news repeatedly hyping up recession, couples all over the country still plan their weddings and choose items for it on more than just price alone. We have done our best to improve efficiency in producing our Save The Date Cards and rationalised prices to be as competitive as possible.

Visit www.savethedatecards.co.uk and see what we can produce for you as a unique card for your special occasion. Our website concentrates on Save The Date Cards, but we can also produce announcement cards for Silver Weddings, Golden Weddings, Parties or any other event you wish. Party cards are useful if you have a number of people attending a function in a club or venue where you need an element of security, as it is very difficult to copy the type of cards we produce. Only hot foil printing can give the true metallic and holographic text and image finishes we achieve on our cards. If you have your own logo or design you would like printing, send it by email to sales@savethedatecards.co.uk and see what we can do for you.

Save The Date Card designs
Mar 23rd, 2011 by admin

After a busy evening spent printing Save The Date Cards it still surprises me how different designs look when printed on different coloured cards using different coloured text. There are times you can put two similar cards next to each other and it takes a few moments to realize the graphics are similar. Black cards always look  good with holographic text, where the dull satin black provides a rich backdrop to the rainbow shimmer of the words. The same design printed on a frosted card looks more contemporary, whereas a bright gold card has a richness which silver text complements perfectly.

Have a look at the various combinations at www.savethedatecards.co.uk and request some free samples to see how effective our cards look.

Save The Dare Cards for winter wedding
Mar 18th, 2011 by admin

Save The Date Cards for a winter wedding can be designed in various ways, but we have found our snowflake design remains a popular choice, especially when printed with holographic text on a satin black card. It has a simple geometric multiple snowflake image which is both pleasing to the eye and still demands attention. We often find Winter weddings are planned in spring time, for no particular reason that we are aware of. Have a look at the examples page at www.savethedatecards.co.uk and picture a card with your own details on, then request a free photorealistic proof.
