I must try a holoprint card tomorrow and see if I can manage to capture the irridescent colours in a truly representative way … now that is a challenge. So far movies seem to be the best, but if I can manage a good still so much the better.
Tonight was printing time. Four neat orders, all different. The combinations of card colours and print colours make similar designs look so different. Tonight we’ve printed twp frosted card orders, one in white ink and one in silver, followed by a black card with silver ink. The final print run was a white card with gold ink. I always feel white cards with gold ink look traditional, which some people want. The frosted cards with silver ink have a more contemporary look. Different choices for different peoples tastes. After a busy evening spent printing Save The Date Cards it still surprises me how different designs look when printed on different coloured cards using different coloured text. There are times you can put two similar cards next to each other and it takes a few moments to realize the graphics are similar. Black cards always look good with holographic text, where the dull satin black provides a rich backdrop to the rainbow shimmer of the words.
