We have always believed that our save the date cards are unique.
Recently we have been speaking to our customer and they too agree that our save the date cards are indeed unique.
So many companies offer normal card based save the date cards – a lot of them are beautifully hand crafted. However, it is rare to see a plastic save the date card and they do indeed stand out, especially when they are frosted plastic printed with metallic silver or holoprint.
We have been printing save the date cards for a number of years now and surprisingly find that customers search in Google simple for save the date rather than save the date cards.
This has got us thinking what other products we can sell along side the save the date cards as obviously at this stage our customer is at the very early stages of planning their wedding.

The Easter weekend has now passed and what amazing weather we have had. It was such a change to have sunshine and a little warmth to enjoy the extended holiday in. You could say we had a long weekend, or you could say we’ve had two short working weeks, either way it came as a pleasant interlude. It seems that quite a number of people have enjoyed their weekend thinking about ordering their Save The Date Cards for weddings in 2010, as we’ve had a fair run on requests for sample packs and Save The Date Card proofs. Our proofs provide a good photo realistic likeness of the cards which will be printed and our sample packs give an idea of the quality and presence our cards exude. We often receive good feedback from our customers as their cards progress from an idea to a final fully printed and delivered high quality personalized Save The Date Card order.
G20 Summit
The G20 Summit in London is attended by a group of twenty internationally important members of the higher financial fields. Their level of expertise is above that which mere mortals can comprehend, or so they’d have you believe. The aim of the summit is to try to resolve the current situation affecting most countries of the world and to try to plan ahead with ideas for prevention of a re-occurrence of the present economic downturn. Representatives from all over the globe are attending, from as far afield as Australia, South Africa, South Korea and of course the USA. Given the importance of this event it would have been a good idea to have arranged for us to print some Save The Date Cards, one for each countries delegate, preferably with magnets attached for them to mount the reminder on their fridge door. It would be good to imagine each important G20 attendee going to his fridge in a morning and being reminded to visit London to discuss money matters.
When the first ideas were formulated for the Google CADIE artificial intelligence concept consideration could have also been given to its marketing and announcement. Further than that, development by all could have been influenced by surreptitious reminder technology. Not all effective systems need to be high tech. Very often the simple solution does the same job, if not better. Take the case of the approach from different countries with their space programmes. To allow astronauts writing facilities a special pen was developed, which did not rely on gravity to make ink flow down to the ball point tip. A different culture took on board and solved the same problem by giving their astronaut a pencil. Both methods worked but one was simpler and had zero development cost [apart from what to do with the floating pencil shavings]. To return to CADIE, which must rank with the greatest space exploration programmes in it’s potential impact on cyber mankind, we could have assisted with it’s launch. A Save the date card on frosted plastic with holo print showing a Google logo and text along the lines of “CADIE will be ready for you in Spring 2009” would have people wondering just what to expect. This is one occasion though when an actual date could not be given. April 1st2009 would have rung too many alarm bells.
Red letter days were used to mark notable events coming up in the calendar, but nowadays with the increasing use of electronics a far more appropriate offering is a Save the date card. Whilst it is accepted practice to send messages out by email, it makes a far greater impact if the date is saved using a high quality bespoke card. We can produce something special just for you to promote your news. We can deliver your message in a manner that will stand out and be remembered. Our foil printed plastic cards have a certain style and impact above and beyond expectations. People enjoy receiving a personalized card which they can see was produced with only you in mind. In days gone by, postcards were used like emails now, only rather slower. The special events were announced with gilt edged cards. If you use our Save the date cards your red letter day will be entered in every guest’s paper or electronic diary.
It’s a warm sunny spring sunday and the call is out to visit the countryside. Where can we go? What can we find to do? The questions can be heard coming from houses large and small. There are walkers, climbers, picnickers and strollers all weighing up where to spend their day in the open air. A walk along the river or canal, followed by a pub lunch and gentle amble back. A drive to a National Trust attraction, incorporating lunch and a drive back on congested roads. Or there again, you could stay at home and enjoy the peace and quiet whilst everyone else is out! During that interlude of calm, you can plan your summer barbie and decide what to put on your save the date cards. Your party guests will be delighted when they receive your classic satin black cards with holoprint writing inviting them to save the date for the summer event of the year.
Printing your Save The Date Cards.
It can be quite therapeutic to print your Save The Date Cards whilst listening to music. Sometimes a bit of heavy metal keeps the action going on a large order, or perhaps a little country music to accompany a smaller print run with a tricky design. Whichever music suits the occasion there are sometimes little hiccups. All set up, cards ready, correct foil aligned and Bzzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzz. It’s a fly. Now who let a fly into the print room?
We can’t have that. It might end up fused onto a card! Quality control would never forgive a foiled fly!
It’s no use reaching for the fly spray. We don’t want to contaminate the cards.
There’s only one answer. Where’s that fly swatter. Quality control had hidden it, but not well enough. Sneak up on the fly, allowing for it’s three hundred and sixty degree vision, aim for where it will be half a second after it’s taken off … and splat.
That’s better, the Save the date cards are safe again.
“To save, or not to Save The Date, that is the question” could have rolled off Shakespeare’s quill pen if Save The Date Cards had been around in his time. Can you imagine the text he would have penned? Can you imagine the graphics Leonardo Da Vinci would have sketched if Save The Date Cards had been around in his time? They would have been priceless masterpieces by now. Now the great masters have come and gone, but we will do our best to produce classic high quality Save The Date Cards just for your special occasion which we would like to think will stand the test of time and still look good in years to come. If something is designed and produced in a certain manner, it can transcend fashion and continue as a timeless classic. This is what we aim to achieve for you : a unique announcement of your forthcoming event.
